A hangover is what you may feel after drinking a considerable amount of alcohol. That amount though can be different for everyone. Some people have a very high tolerance for alcohol and others can have a hangover after only a couple of drinks. This is a term that refers to the after effects of consuming alcoholic beverages.

There are many different symptoms that a person can experience when they have a hangover. For some individuals, there are several symptoms and they are quite severe. For others there is only one or two symptoms and they aren’t too bad. Some people wish they could just die and get it over with due to how bad they feel.

For many individuals, the hangover is just as common as how they feel when they have the flu. In fact, that is how some people hide the fact that they have a hangover. They may show up at work and then tell their boss they have the flu and need to go home. As long as they don’t come in smelling like a brewery they can typically get away with it.

Some of the common symptoms of a hangover include headache, nausea or vomiting, dry mouth, and fatigue. Dehydration is a big part of what a hangover is. The alcohol will remove a great deal of the water from the body. This is one of the main reasons why people end up feeling so bad after drinking lots of alcohol. The body relies on those key fluids and the water to be able to function properly.

Even if you do get some rest after drinking, you can experience a hangover due to the body not being able to rest property. The alcohol in the body and the mind can result in a person failing to get into the deeper areas of sleep. You may be lying down for several hours but you aren’t able to really get into a good sleep pattern.

Alcohol will get into the bloodstream, and that is why the entire body and mind feel the effects with a hangover. The alcohol doesn’t just stay in the stomach. While some of it is filtered out by the liver and the kidneys, not all of it will be. It can take 8 or 10 hours of time for the body to successfully filter it all out. That is why the effects of a hangover can linger.

It takes time for the body to get back to normal after a hangover. Do your best to get plenty of rest. Avoid trying to do tasks that require lots of energy or lots of thinking as that will put too much stress on the mind and the body. You need to drink lots of fluids to increase hydration. Eat even if you don’t feel like it so that you will be able to get some of the alcohol that is still in the stomach area absorbed.

Wow very nice post with very useful information and yeah Coconut water or bananas are very good hangover cure: When you’re dehydrated, you lose not only water, but also electrolytes, including potassium – and too little potassium can lead to cramps, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and heart palpitations. Both of these foods are loaded with potassium, and putting it back into your system can give you some quick relief.
